Mission
Statement
The Iron County Housing
Commission does hereby adopt a mission statement that shall
in prime consideration of the establishment and utilization
of a positive resident self-image, the Family
Self-Sufficiency, (FSS), Programs and the Existing
Homeownership Programs shall be actively encouraged and
pursued as a means to assist in the development of a
positive resident self-image and economic independence.
To take full advantage of all
of the resident needs, both spiritual and medical, monthly
birthday parties and the like. Continuation of the existing
management practice as defined by the Iron County Housing
Commissioners, (Appointing Authority), to affix one (1)
permanent seat on the Iron County Housing Commission to be
reserved for a resident, to ensure resident involvement in
management.
Beyond that, to facilitate
resident involvement by the means of the incorporation of
rent reductions, newer appliances.
To encourage all residents to
plant flower gardens, shrubs, etc., in an effort to enhance
curb appeal, and thus allow the homes to become more
community friendly.
Install higher efficiency
appliances, heating systems, hot water systems, to best
utilize resident dollars.
To review the existing
Cooperation Agreements that exist with the various local
municipalities and the subsequent Payment in Lieu of Taxes,
(PILOT) and to enter into negotiations with same, to
establish a communication link with local units of
government to better utilize diminishing resources and to
discuss the continuation of PILOT payments.
To purchase reference materials
and manuals, etc., computer equipment to aid in the
streamlining, record keeping in the maintenance department.
To educate, inform, and train
all existing staff and PHA Board of Commissioners to PHMAP
regulations.
To formulate a list of work
items that is clearly prioritized, documented with defined
and well though out objectives.
To formulate a 501C.3,
non-profit status, to potentially assign cash assets to
disburse assets appropriately and to ensure growth in both
size and scope.
